On the upcoming Sunday, July 23rd, 2023, at 12:00 PM, Padre Ángel and Mensajeros de la Paz are calling for the celebration of Elderly People’s Day at Church of San Antón (63 Hortaleza Street, Madrid).
In previous years, it was common to celebrate this day on July 26th, the liturgical feast of San Joaquin and Santa Ana. However, Pope Francis has called for the III World Day of the Elderly People on Sunday, July 23rd, and Mensajeros de la Paz has willingly joined in response to his request.
A Solemn Mass presided over by His Eminence and Most Reverend Mr. D. Carlos Osoro, Cardinal-Archbishop Emeritus of Madrid, will be held at 12:00 PM, followed by a Diploma Award Ceremony for the Honored Elders.
The Honorary President and announcer will be the renowned journalist Luis del Olmo, and Cándido Méndez, along with his wife, Encarna Gálvez, will serve as the godfather and godmother of the 25th Anniversary. Cándido Méndez has been volunteer for Mensajeros de la Paz for many years.
At Mensajeros de la Paz, they have always aimed for this day to be a celebration of gratitude, and act of love, a return of tenderness, and above all, a respectful and joyful expression of thanks to bring forth the brightest smiles from our elderly people in this family celebration, where we make them the center of attention once again.
Asociación Edad Dorada, which is part of Mensajeros de la Paz, was created in response to the social and demographic reality of Spain, to accompany elderly people experiencing loneliness, and growing concern in our society.
